Pascal Beckers is Associate Professor in Human Geography and Planning at the Radboud University (NL) with particular expertise on issues related to migrant inclusion, employment, housing and psychosocial wellbeing of migrants. He has been coordinating several small and large scale research projects funded by EU, ZonMw and NWO on foreign skills recognition, cultural diversity management policies and practices, labour market integration of refugees, (EU) labour migrants and irregular migrants, refugee mental health, cross-border governance of labour migration, housing issues of labour migrants. From April 2023 onwards he is leading the Horizon Europe project DignityFirm on EU governance of irregular migrants working in Farm to Fork sectors. From 2024 onwards he also leads the Horizon Europe project GS4S that seeks to better understand global skills shortages in selected sectors (Digital, Care and Construction) to strengthen evidence-based policies through new evidence on various overlooked global mobility schemes. He coordinates the Radboud University Network on Migrant Inclusion (RUNOMI), a university-wide network of 140+ scholars specialized in migrant inclusion issues, and he is programme lead of the university’s large-scale innovation initiative on digitalisation and migrant inclusion funded by the Dutch Ministry of Education.
