Marie Ruiz is an Associate Professor of British History at the University of Picardie Jules Verne (Amiens). A specialist in gender and migration history, her research examines women’s mobility, migration infrastructures, and intermediaries in the British Empire from the nineteenth to the early twentieth century. She was the Chair of COST Action Women on the Move (2020–2025), an EU-funded network spanning 52 countries that produced databases, exhibitions, a documentary film, and a MOOC on women’s migration. She is the founder and co-editor of several academic series, including Women on the Move (Manchester University Press and Open Research Europe), Gender and Migration (Palgrave Macmillan), and the Anthem Studies in British History.
