Danica Santic is a Full Professor at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Geography. She has a strong interest in migration topics. Her research projects have focused on the Balkan migration route, as well as various issues related to migration in Serbia and the Western Balkans. She is one of the founders of the Migration, Inter-Connectivity and Regional Development (MICaRD) network, a member of the MIGREC project (funded by EU H2020), a member of the Executive Board of WB MIGNET, the Regional Studies Association (RSA) territorial representative (2015–2020), a World Social Science Fellow, and a Fellow of the European Center for International Affairs (ECIA). She works with academia and policy makers in creating strategies and development documents at local and national levels. She also works as an expert for IOM, OSCE, UNDP, ICMPD, GIZ, and others.
