Tuncer

Ezgi Tuncer is an associate professor at Kadir Has University (KHAS) in Istanbul. She is the head of the Department of Architecture and the director of both the Center for Istanbul Studies and the Architectural and Urban Studies M.Sc. program at KHAS. Her research and teaching focus on space, politics and power; ethno-spatial methodologies; rhythm-analysis and everyday life practices; migration and displacement; border studies; and contemporary art and space. She was a visiting researcher at the UKRI GCRF Centre for Gender, Justice and Security at LSE and co-investigator of the Gender Dynamics of International Labour Migration project under the Migration and Displacement Stream from 2020 to 2022. From 2022 to 2024, she was the principal investigator of the TUBITAK-funded research project 'Transnational Urbanism and Everyday Life Practices of Skilled Migrants in Istanbul'.
