Johan Ekstedt is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute for European Studies at Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB). He holds a PhD from Malmö University’s Department of Global Political Studies. His doctoral research focused on the European Union Agency for Asylum (EUAA), examining its role in shaping asylum governance within the Common European Asylum System (CEAS). Beyond his doctoral work, Ekstedt has published on Third Country Resettlement, European migration policy, and Swedish asylum policy. Before entering academia, he worked for both the Swedish Migration Agency and the International Organization for Migration.
