I am a PhD Candidate in Economics and Finance at the University of Warsaw Doctoral School of Social Sciences and Faculty of Economic Sciences. My research focuses on the return plans of Ukrainian refugees in Europe, mainly in Poland and Germany. I plan to evaluate how plans form, change, and are realized into actual movement, whether back to Ukraine or to a third country. My theoretical approach is centered around augmenting economic migration theories with non-economic frameworks and theories, as well as adapting such theories to the context of forced migration. My methodological approach is based on quantitative survey methods using comprehensive statistical modelling techniques like Structural Equation Modelling as well as Game Theory simulations. I am also employed by the Centre of Migration Research at the University of Warsaw, where I participate in research projects on labor market integration and outcomes of Ukrainians in Poland and Germany, as well as studies about changing fertility intentions of Ukrainian refugees. I completed my MA in International Economics at the University of Warsaw, and my BA in Economics at Western Washington University in the USA.
