Gabriella Elgenius is Professor of Sociology at the University of Gothenburg. She joined the Department of Sociology and Work Science in 2014 . She is Co-Director of the Swedish Research Council's Graduate School in Migration and Integration, member of the editorial board of the Journal of Comparative Migration Studies (CMS) and on the Steering Group of the Centre for the Study of Global Nationalisms (CSGN), Visiting Fellow of the UCL and the RSA. Gabriella received her doctorate from the London School of Economics as a Marie Curie Fellow in 2005, and later held British Academy post-doc fellowship at the University of Oxford and Nuffield College (2007-2011). She has been a lecturer at the University of London and the University of Oxford over the period 2000-2014. Gabriella's research in political sociology and migration studies includes an interest in civil society's role for integration in socioeconomically and diverse neighborhoods, labour market integration, nostalgia, ethnic-nationalism and the radical right party family. Her projects combine theoretical and empirical comparative designs using mixed-methods i.e. qualitative and quantitative methodologies across countries and multi-cited locations.
