Abouzar Pouradib is a PhD candidate in Political Science, specializing in Public Policy, and a researcher on public policy and governance in West and South Asia. His research examines state and policy capacity, crisis governance, institutional resilience, fragile states, humanitarian affairs, and human security, with a regional focus on Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, and Türkiye.
His developing migration research agenda focuses on migration governance, forced migration, refugees, return policies, and cross-border displacement in contexts of conflict, institutional fragility, humanitarian crisis, and environmental stress. He is particularly interested in the policy capacities of states and international organizations to manage displacement, protection, service provision, return, and regional cooperation. His broader research also addresses transboundary water governance and its links to displacement and livelihood insecurity in border regions. He uses public policy analysis, comparative case studies, document analysis, stakeholder analysis, discourse analysis, and qualitative research methods.
