Egea Quijada

Iris Egea is a Research Foundation - Flanders (FWO) PhD Fellow in Sociology at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). Her research analyses the link between the reception of international migration in declining rural areas and rural revival from a sustainable community perspective. Drawing on long-term ethnographic fieldwork in Spain and Ireland, she examines the spatial reproduction of structural inequalities and racialisation processes for community sustainability.
