Mega Nisfa Makhroja is a women’s empowerment leader, founder of Rumah Perempuan Migran (RPM), and lecturer from Indonesia with over 12 years of experience leading initiatives on gender, migration, and women’s economic empowerment, and more than 6 years of teaching on migration, human rights, and global political economy. At Universitas Mataram, she has actively managed international student programs, supporting mobility and integration processes for students from diverse backgrounds. Her research interests include stateless children, migrant women, irregular migration, student mobility, and the intersection between migration and mental health. She has collaborated with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), GIZ Indonesia, and other institutions, and has led community-based projects across Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Hong Kong, Poland, and Indonesia. As an alumna of the ASEAN University Network on Human Rights Education (AUN-HRE), she continues to contribute to advancing human rights education in Southeast Asia. Currently pursuing her PhD at the University of Warsaw, her research explores the intersections of migration, gender, and sustainable development, bridging Southeast Asia with Central and Eastern Europe.
