Fernandes
Deepali Fernandes is Senior Migration and Economic Development Specialist at International Organization for Migration (IOM). Her background is in the areas of trade, finance and migration, with work experience in the private sector and the United Nations. She joined IOM in 2018 where she works on the economic aspects of diaspora and migration focusing on trade, entrepreneurship, remittances and finance. Prior to joining IOM, Deepali worked as an international trade consultant with the WTO, UNDP, AU and SADC, as Economics Affairs Officer with UNCTAD for 9 years and in private practice in India and the UK. She was a visiting fellow at the University of Cambridge and the Beijing University of International Business and Economics, and a guest lecturer at IMD Business School, Lausanne and the Government Law College, Mumbai.
Deepali completed her BA (Economics) and LLB in India, and her LLM in London (SOAS) and is currently working on her PhD (Finance and Trade). She is admitted as a Solicitor, Law Society of England and Wales.
