Baselice Pelicioni, Ana Beatriz

Ana Beatriz
Baselice Pelicioni

I am currently pursuing a PhD in Sociology at the University of Warsaw. My doctoral research focuses on the Nakivale Refugee Settlement in Uganda, exploring how spatial environments influence refugees’ sense of place, specifically in prolonged displacement situations. I hold a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from São Paulo State University (UNESP), where I examined labour migration to Brazil and contemporary forms of slavery, and a master’s degree in Mobility Studies from the University of Padua, complemented by an Erasmus+ semester at Freie Universität Berlin. From 2022–23, I was a research member of the European Student Think Tank’s Working Group on Migration, engaging with global migration trends and challenges. My work sits at the intersection of migration, identity, and community-building, with a strong interest in how people and places mutually shape each other.
