Beatriz González-Martín received her PhD. in Migratory Studies, Development and Social Intervention from the University of Almeria (Spain) in 2013. Her doctoral thesis titled 'Rise and Fall of the Spanish construction sector: Its impact in social and labour situations of immigrant and native workers' was awarded the Extraordinary Prize of Doctorate in the category of Humanities for that year.
