Arnfinn H. Midtbøen is a Professor of sociology at the University of Oslo. His research lies in the intersection of social stratification, race/ethnicity and the sociology of immigration, including topics such as ethnoracial discrimination, patterns of second-generation incorporation, and citizenship policies and practices. Together with Patrick Simon and Rosita Fibbi, Midtbøen established the IMISCOE research cluster on comparative perspectives on discrimination in 2015. Today, he is member of the Standing Comittee RACED , as well as an Associate Editor of International Migration Review (IMR) and a Norway Country Expert in The Global Citizenship Observatory (GLOBALCIT). Midtbøen’s research has appeared in journals such as Proceedings of the National Academy of the Sciences (PNAS), Annual Review of Sociology, European Sociological Review, International Migration Review, Ethnic and Racial Studies, and Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies.
