Samuel Ballin (they/he) is a sociolegal researcher who connects migration law and academic theories with migrants’ personal experiences. Their research uses legal and qualitative empirical research methods to zoom in and out between the level of the human and the wider structural context. They have published across topics including highly-qualified labour migration, refugee law, climate change, gender and human rights, often drawing on their own experiences and their position as a migrant worker.
