Jelle van der Wal is a PhD candidate at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), affiliated with the Transnational Relations, Democratization and Migration (TransDeM) research group. His research interests center on transnational migration, street-level bureaucracy, policy entrepreneurship, representative bureaucracy, and migration policy implementation and design relations in the Netherlands and Spain.
