Berta, Giulia

Giulia
Berta

I am a PhD student in Economic Sociology, Organization and Labour Studies at the University of Milan, with a strong research focus on migration studies, social inequalities, and gender. My academic and professional journey has been shaped by a deep interest in how social structures influence opportunities, mobility, and integration processes within contemporary societies. I have collaborated on several national and European research projects - including GESI, MEI, and EXIT (Horizon Europe) - where I contributed to both qualitative and quantitative analyses on topics such as ethnic inequalities, territorial disparities, and student mobility in Italy. Alongside my research activity, I have worked with public institutions and NGOs (including Oxfam Italia and the Comune di Venezia), focusing on social inclusion, intercultural communication, and community development. Driven by a passion for social justice and evidence-based policy, I aim to bridge academic research and real-world change - promoting equity, participation, and sustainable development.
