Can M. Aybek is full professor for empirical social research methods at the City University of Applied Sciences Bremen, Germany. He studied political sciences in Ankara and Munich and obtained his doctoral degree from the Bremen International Graduate School of Social Sciences (BIGSSS). He has been a Max Weber fellow at the European University Institute in Florence (2008/9), fellow of the Hanse-Wissenschaftskolleg Institute for Advanced Studies in Delmenhorst (2012/3) and Hannah Arendt Chair for German and European Studies at the University of Toronto (2016/7). Aybek worked at various universities as well as the German Federal Institute for Population Studies in Wiesbaden.
