Zibar, Layla


Layla Zibar is an architect/urban practitioner and a PhD Candidate in Brandenburg University of Technology (Germany) . Her research focuses on spatial transformations of Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) refugee camps, in relation with their specific geopolitical, socio-cultural backgrounds and home/homeland factors. She explores the long history of Kurds forced migration waves in the region, and the spatial dimension of “sites of displacements”, which appear to be (re) shaping the overall urban landscape.
