Tawafuddin Azimi is a PhD Scholar at Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala. He is also a fellow of the Don Lavoie Fellowship at George Mason University, Mercatus Center Research Institute in Arlington, Virginia. He has been a staff of the Attorney of Bamiyan province, Afghanistan. He completed his Bachelor’s in Law and Political Science in the Bamiyan province, Afghanistan. During this period, he did a six-month internship with UNDP, where he became well acquainted with legal procedures for investigating crimes, the prosecution process, the examination and cross-examination of witnesses, and the formalities associated with judgments and decrees issued by courts. He is one of the founders of the Social Institutions of Partnership for Justice. Additionally, he has interned at the Global Research Forum on Diaspora and Transnationalism (GRFDT) and The Migration News (TMN) People on the Move. He has authored a few articles and book reviews, all published by The Migration News and other journal. He holds an MA in Politics and Human Rights from Mahatma Gandhi University.
