I am a trained sociologist and hold a Doctoral degree in Social and Political Science. Currently I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Latin American Studies LAI) of the Freie Universität Berlin (FU Berlin) and research coordinator in the joined research project “Stay, return, or move on. Exploring the life strategies of forced migrants in four transit countries: Türkiye, Jordan, Mexico and Colombia” (www.migration-violence.org) between Ruhr Universität Bochum and FU Berlin. Before I took part in the international research project GEN-MIGRA (www.genmigra.org) exploring the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on migrant women in different countries at TU Dortmund. I also have been a postdoctoral researcher at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and collaborator of the Seminar on Internal Displacement, Migration, Exile and Return (SUDIMER) of the same university, analyzing agency and institutional restrictions in access to refugee protection and social rights of Central American women in Mexico. My main research interests are care relations and transnational families, gender, violence(s) and forced migration processes.
