I am a postdoctoral research fellow at Tallinn University. Within the POLINERA project, I conduct ethnographic research in Estonia. Specifically, I am observing shifts in political involvement in Lasnamäe, which is one of the biggest district of Tallinn, predominantely Russophone. Trained as an anthropologist, I am involved in Political Studies, I would call my current field a Political Ethnography. My academic interests focus on political integration, identity formation, and the religious practices of the Russian-speaking minority in Estonia. I have long been engaged in the study of Russian Old Believer communities in Southern Siberia and the Baltic region. My PhD disertation is dedicated to role of women as religious leaders and culture caretakers in Old Belief.
