Eurídice Hernández Gomes is a Doctoral Researcher in the Department of Art and Cultural Studies at the University of Helsinki. Her research explores the intersections of public space, migration, and cultural heritage, with a particular focus on how urban social infrastructure shapes identity formation among cross-cultural children and youth of Latin American background. She works with ethnographic and arts-based approaches to examine the cultural practices of Latin American communities and their engagement with cultural institutions—such as libraries and community centers—as key spaces for the transmission of language and culture through dance, music, and children’s literature. Eurídice is also a researcher at FGV Cidades in Brazil and has contributed to international research projects, including the D.Rad Horizon 2020 project (#959198), as well as initiatives on smart mobility and social inequality. Beyond her doctoral research, Eurídice is currently a member of the IMISCOE PhD Network and the PhD representative of the Standing Committee on Arts, Culture and Migration (DIVCULT).
