I am an academic focusing on the forced migration of children and young people from contexts of genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and gross human rights violations. I also focus on children's distinct experiences of mass atrocities, mechanisms of accountability, and childhood memory and justice. My research prioritises children and young peoples voices through participatory and empowering approaches, and has resulted in key legislative and policy changes towards improving the care and protection of unaccompanied asylum seeking, refugee and trafficked children. Most of my work focuses on the intersection between the care and protection of unaccompanied asylum seeking, refugee and trafficked children and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
