Ferreira Fernandes
I am an external consultant with experience researching and consulting on environmental and social sustainability issues. I am finalising a PhD in Social Sustainability and Development from Universidade Aberta and a PG Certificate in Climate Change Management from the University of Edinburgh.
My current work involves conducting and disseminating research on climate change-induced migration and providing practical and creative solutions to complex problems faced by governments, NGOs, and communities. I am a member of the Societies and Environmental Sustainability research group at the Centre for Functional Ecology, where I collaborate with other researchers and stakeholders to advance scientific and policy knowledge on human mobility and its environmental drivers and consequences. I am proficient in four languages and have extensive experience working in different cultural contexts. I am passionate about contributing to global social and environmental sustainability efforts.
