Dr. Mariana Roșca is a coordinating scientific researcher, within the project “Strengthening Socio-Economic and Legal Mechanisms to Ensure the Well-Being and Security of Citizens.”, at MSU. Previously, she served as director of the research project “Resilient Societies in the Wake of Persistent Crises: A Case Study of Ukrainian Women Refugees’ Digital Work” at Transilvania University of Brașov, Romania. She obtained her Ph.D. within the program Human Rights: Ethical, Social, and Political Challenges, funded by the Horizon 2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND Programme, at the Deusto University, Spain, where her research focused on the social integration of religious minorities. Dr. Roșca’s current work explores the intersection of forced migration, digitalization, artificial intelligence, and security, with a particular focus on Ukrainian refugees. Born in Moldova and having lived in several countries within and beyond Europe, her academic and personal experiences have shaped a deep commitment to studying diaspora communities, migration, religious minorities, refugees, and social integration. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Sociology from the Academy of Economic Studies of the Republic of Moldova, a Master’s degree in Global Development and Social Justice from St. John’s University, New York, and a second Master’s degree in Advanced European and International Studies from the European Institute in France.
