My research and teaching interests are interdisciplinary, situated at the intersection of Forced Migration Studies, Peace Studies, Decoloniality and Visual Politics. I focus particularly on humanitarian responses, refugee shelters, and visual politics. I am Former Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the Centre of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology, Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology, Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw, leading the project “Peace and Conflict dynamics in Refugee Shelters (PCRS)”. I was a Visiting Researcher at the Refugee Studies Centre, University of Oxford and also an Assistant Professor at the Federal University of Roraima, where I led the project “Migrant Stories” (https://en.estoriasmigrantes.org).I hold a Ph.D. in Politics, Policies, and International Relations, from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), Spain, a MSc in Peace, Conflict and Development Studies from the UNESCO Chair of Philosophy for Peace, University Jaume I, Spain and a BSc in International Relations from the State University of São Paulo (UNESP), Brazil.
