Borges Carrijo

I am currently an Assistant Professor at the Taube Centre for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences, Faculty of International and Political Studies, Jagiellonian University in Kraków. I hold a PhD in Politics, Policies and International Relations from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. My research and teaching are situated at the intersection of forced migration and peace and conflict studies, with particular emphasis on humanitarian responses, peacebuilding, refugee shelters, ethnography, decolonial approaches, and visual methodologies. I am a member of the North America Hub of Lancet Migration at the Johns Hopkins University Center for Humanitarian Health. Previously, I was a Visiting Researcher at the Refugee Studies Centre, University of Oxford, a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and an Assistant Professor at the Federal University of Roraima, Brazil. I have also taught as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Wrocław, Poland, and at the Barcelona Institute of International Studies (IBEI), Spain.
