I'm an Anthropologist with a background in Music Education, Musicology, and Music Performance. My research expertise lies in (forced) migration, inclusion and inclusivity, (non-)citizenship, (non-)belonging, encounters, globalisation, and creative practices and expressions. I'm interested in and committed to enhancing accessibility of research and dissemination across (non-)academic and (non-)expert audiences through publishing, blogging, podcasting, and conference/study day organizing. My fieldwork research with refugees’ sheltering in reception centres explores how refugees’ aesthetic agencies are informed by the shifting backgrounds in which they live, and how they shape their socialities. I'm the Editor of the Special Issue: Navigating hurdles and reconfiguring (im)mobilities in times of corona (Critique of Anthropology 44:4), Coordinating Editor of the Round Table Voice and Agency (Royal Musical Associational Research Chronicle 56), co-editor of the forthcoming Music and Arts in Action Special Issue on Music Education among Refugee and Migrant Youths: Including, Sharing, Belonging. My authored pieces are available online and open to all.
