PhD candidate affiliated to The Migrations and Society Research Unit (URMIS) of Côte d'Azur University. My research activities focus primarily on the analysis of social work and the contemporary transformations of social policy, particularly in the context of the care of unaccompanied minors (UMs). Based on a multi-sited ethnographic study conducted in the Île-de-France region, I examine the bottom-up implementation of public policies through the study of social workers’ practices, understood as “street-level bureaucrats” who contribute on a daily basis to the enactment of public policy and to the definition of target populations, within arrangements shaped by contradictory logics between child protection and migration control. I am also interested in interprofessional relations and the power dynamics that structure social work, as well as the interactions between the different professionals involved in supporting unaccompanied minors. Finally, I more broadly analyze the role of the non-profit sector in the establishment of forms of "governing at a distance" populations categorized as "vulnerable". My research thus lies at the intersection of the sociology of social work, public policy, the non-profit sector, and migration studies.
