Fanny D’hondt is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at VUB. She holds a PhD in Sociology from Ghent University (2015). During her PhD, she studied how perceived ethnic discrimination affects the academic well-being of ethnic minoritised students in Flanders. After her PhD, Fanny applied her expertise in practice at GUBERNA, leading research projects across the public, hospital, and social profit sectors. She then returned to academia as a postdoctoral researcher and research coordinator for the EdisTools project, overseeing the research and development of tools to address ethnic discrimination in the labour market, housing, education, and healthcare.Her current research is situated in the fields of racism and ethnic discrimination and sociology of education.
