Socio-anthropologist Émeline Zougbédé is a lecturer at the Université de Rouen Normandie. From 2013 to 2023, she volunteered at a union office dedicated to undocumented workers. Defended in 2016 at the Université Paris Descartes, her thesis focused on undocumented workers and questioned the social, economic and political implications of such an issue. She then extended her field of research to the construction of migratory categories, such as that of “unaccompanied minor” (MNA), and their articulation and application in law. Recently, she devoted a chapter to this question: "Le discrétionnaire en dispute. Observer en réunion la régularisation des travailleurs sans-papiers" in the book coordinated by Annalisa Lendaro, Pouvoirs discrétionnaire en pratique(s), Droits et Société, 2025. His research has been the subject of several publications for a variety of academic and non-academic audiences, notably in the Revue européenne des migrations internationales, the Revue des Politiques sociales et familiales, and the journal Plein Droit.
