Immigrants' Pathways and Barriers to Health Care

Principal investigator Lothar Probst (Principal Investigator), Nina Glick Schiller (Principal Investigator)
Description
To date, comparisons of migrant integration policies and outcomes remain primarily on a national level. However, health care delivery including access to specialists for persons of migrant background may vary locally as a consequence of urban restructuring following deindustrialization. These issues are raised in the main proposal which will focus on adult onset diabetes and serious injury in three German and three UK cities. In preliminary studies the research team will consult with experts in comparative urban and health care restructuring in Germany and the UK and conduct preliminary explorations in cities that will serve as possible research sites.
