I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the European University Institute. My research focuses on discrimination in the rental housing market within a European context. During my PhD, I employed correspondence testing to study discriminatory practices, with particular attention to how names signal ethnic origin, gender, socioeconomic status, and religiosity. In addition to experimental methods, I am interested in the broader social and institutional contexts in which discrimination occurs. This has led me to examine local anti-discrimination policies and their implementation. My recent work shifts focus to the lived experiences of ethnic minority candidates in the rental market, investigating how individuals cope with and respond to discrimination. This strand of research is based on the analysis of housing discrimination reports. Currently, I am contributing to Valentina Di Stasio’s ERC-funded project TARGETS, where my work explores how discrimination claims are legitimized by equality bodies and in judicial settings.
