Dorotea Tiziana
Sconzo

Dorotea Tiziana Sconzo is a second-year PhD candidate in the Migrations, Differences, and Social Justice program at the University of Palermo. Her research adopts a historical and intersectional perspective to examine Somali women’s migration to Turin in the 1990s, focusing on their experiences, roles within the urban context, and interactions with local feminist movements. Her work critically engages with the legacy of Italian colonialism in Somalia and its implications for migratory trajectories, as well as with decolonial debates surrounding the Somali context. She holds a degree in Philosophy from the University of Turin and has long been involved in feminist and migration activism, which continues to inform her academic perspective.
