Tareq Salauddin @KMS Tareq is a Commonwealth Scholar doing PhD in law at SOAS University of London. He is researching the emergence and (in)effectiveness of climate mobility law and governance from international, regional, and national perspectives. In addition, Tareq works as a Teaching Fellow for international environmental law and tort law at SOAS. Tareq is a research affiliate and member of the working group on climate change and displacement at the Refugee Law Initiative (RLI) of the School of Advanced Study, University of London. Before starting his doctoral journey at SOAS in 2021, Tareq was an Associate Professor (Reader) of Law at the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. He also held positions as an Assistant Professor and Lecturer in Law there. Earlier he worked aas a civil servant of Bangladesh. His role as an assistant commissioner and executive magistrate further enhanced his practical understanding of certain aspects of criminal justice and land administration in Bangladesh. Tareq earned two masters and one bachelor degrees in law. His latest accomplishment was the LLM in International Law (distinction) from Keele University, the UK, under the auspices of the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission. He also holds first-class degrees from the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh, securing the first position in both LLM and LLB. His outstanding success was recognised with the prestigious Prime Minister Gold Medal and University Gold Medals. Tareq is interested in researching climate mobility, international environmental law, climate change law, international refugee law, public international law, tort law (UK), property law (Bangladesh), and criminal law (Bangladesh).
