Stefano Allievi is full professor of Sociology at the University of Padua. He was born in Milan, where he graduated from the Institute for Journalism Training (IFG) and obtained a degree in Political Sciences; he then obtained a Ph.D. in Sociology and Social Research in Trento. He is a specialist in the study on migrations and human mobility, the sociology of religion (with particular attention to the presence of Islam in Europe), and studies on cultural and political change: topics on which he has conducted research at a national and international level, published in various European languages, as well as in Arabic and Turkish.
