Nasser El-Dine

I am a social anthropologist specialising in gender, intimacy, and care, with ethnographic experience in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and among Arab families in Finland. I received my PhD from Tampere University in 2025, with a dissertation examining love as caring practices among young adults in Amman. I am currently a postdoctoral researcher in the MIGDIA project, where I explore the intersections of education and everyday life among displaced Arab families in Finland and Lebanon. At the heart of my research are intimate relations and emotions, particularly approached through the lens of care. I aspire to continue examining these dimensions of the daily lives of displaced Arab families, with a focus on emplacement, diasporic homemaking, and belonging. I welcome opportunities for collaboration and future research projects.
