Mari-Liis Jakobson is Professor of Comparative Politics at Tallinn University and head of its master’s programme in political science. Her research focuses on populism and political radicalisation, migration and transnationalism, citizenship, and political communication. She leads the SIDESTREAM and POLINERA research projects, examining populist radical-right politics and political inclusion in increasingly polarised societies. Alongside her academic work, she contributes actively to public debate and policy discussions on democracy, migration, integration, and contemporary political change. She is also on the supervisory board of the Estonian Integration foundation and the National Statistics Advisory Board.
