Jiyeon (pronounced jee-yawn) Lee is a PhD student in Sociology at the University of Michigan. Broadly interested in the intersection of gender and the state, Jiyeon’s work has centered on how gendered ideals of citizenship shape access to rights and resources, particularly within fertility-declining pro-natalist states. Her research to date has engaged with scholarly conversations in political sociology, sociology of gender, welfare states, and migration.
