Irmak Evren (Ph.D.) is an academic and researcher specializing in sociology, media, and cultural studies. She completed her Ph.D. in Sociology at Middle East Technical University, following graduate studies in Media and Communication at Galatasaray University and Economics and Management of Cultural Products at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. Her undergraduate education combined Economics and Management at both the London School of Economics and Istanbul Bilgi University. Currently an Assistant Professor at Ankara Medipol University’s Faculty of Communication, she teaches courses on digital media, marketing, advertising, and sociology of communication. Her research and publications focus on migration, memory, media, and cultural production, with work appearing in both international and Turkish academic outlets. Irmak Evren also engaged in editorial and translation work with the International Sociological Association (ISA) between 2014-2024. Her ongoing projects explore themes such as migrant leisure practices, social media use among skilled migrants, and the cultural circulation of food in transnational contexts.
