Francesco Vizzarri is a PhD candidate at the Department of Contemporary History at Justus Liebig University Giessen (Germany). He holds a BA in History from Ga-briele D’Annunzio University Chieti–Pescara (Italy) and an MA in History and Polit-ical Science from the Justus Liebig University of Giessen. In 2018, he was awarded the prestigious DAAD Prize for outstanding academic achievement as an interna-tional student. His research focuses on the history of Italian labour migration in post-war Western Europe, with particular emphasis on migrant organisations, political agency and the production of transnational knowledge. His doctoral dissertation examines how Ital-ian migrant organisations shaped debates on labour rights, integration and Europe-an belonging during the 1960s and 1970s. He combines cultural history with trans-national methodologies, a synthesis grounded in extensive archival research con-ducted in Germany, Belgium and Italy. Francesco Vizzarri has participated in numerous international conferences and workshops on topics such as migration history, labour movements, the history of education, memory studies, and the history of European integration. A contributor to several peer-reviewed journals and collective volumes, he is also a member of the German Historical Association (VHD), the Italian Society for the Study of Contem-porary History (SISSCO) and the Italian Association of Oral History (AISO).
